The Price of Honesty

Nandipha and Ace before any romance...
This morning I went home for tea so I could get something to eat as I'd missed breakfast and was fast becoming huungry and grumpy. As I was eating I managed to watch an episode of a local soapie called Isidingo. In there Nandipha was enjoying a romantic dinner set up by her suitor, Ace. He co-owns a hangout place and managed to secure a private setting at a fee. As Nandipha and Ace were toasting to a fresh start they promised each other to be honest... I guess honest in all things.

The conversation soon turned to Nandipha expressing her amazement at the whole setting. In the midst of all of that, it came to light that Ace had paid top dollar for this convenience. Much to Ace's dismay, this didn't please Nandipha at all. On the contrary, it made her mad. She was furious that Ace seems to think that he can buy her love. However, as poor Ace tried to reassure her that it wasn't so, she stormed out of the restaurant!

Here is my gripe with the whole situation: Why do women want honesty in relationships and when given the honesty, they don't want to accept it? Is it because sometimes the truth isn't nice to hear or is it becuase it is not coated with candy floss? What is your take ladies!?
